A report partially funded by The Nicholson Foundation shows that paid family leave policies are key to supporting the health and well being of young children.  Although New Jersey passed a paid family leave policy into law in 2009, the report from Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health found that few lower income workers are aware of the law and able to utilize paid leave.

Each year, NJ Biz releases a list of whom the editors consider to be the top 50 players in the healthcare industry in New Jersey. This year’s list includes The Nicholson Foundation – citing Nicholson as “a behind-the-scenes leader in health care reform” and “a driver of a lot of innovation for the poorest hospital populations.”
