The Paterson Alliance is a coalition of 75 non-profit organizations that work together to advance the quality of life in the city of Paterson. By creating community partnerships and collaborations, the Alliance builds the capacity of the nonprofit sector to serve the Paterson community.

This project supports the launch and ongoing engagement of a Paterson Early Childhood Coalition and the development of a Strategic Plan for Early Childhood in Paterson. The initial focus of the Plan will be improving access to high-quality pre-kindergarten programs for children ages 3 and 4. The Coalition is identifying neighborhoods that are not adequately served by the Paterson Public Schools pre-kindergarten (pre-k) programs and developing strategies to increase enrollment in them. The Coalition also is developing a marketing and communication campaign to promote the benefits of high-quality early childhood education as a way to encourage enrollment in high quality pre-k in the City.
