The Paterson Alliance is a coalition of 75 non-profit organizations that work together to advance the quality of life in the city of Paterson. By creating community partnerships and collaborations, the Alliance builds the capacity of the nonprofit sector to serve the Paterson community.

This project continues support for the Paterson Early Childhood Coalition, which aims to improve access to high-quality pre-kindergarten programs for children ages 3 and 4. During the first year of the project, the Coalition identified neighborhoods that are not adequately served by the Paterson Public Schools pre-kindergarten (pre-K) programs and developed Think Pre-K, a strategic action and communications plan. During this second year, the Coalition is implementing key communication strategies from the plan to increase enrollment in the Paterson Public Schools Pre-K (formerly Abbott) programs by underserved groups. The project also is launching community-wide strategies to improve access to quality infant and toddler care.
