Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) is a private research university located in Hoboken, New Jersey, with more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It supports a range of academic and research programs spanning business, computing, engineering, the arts, and other fields aimed at advancing the frontiers of science and leveraging technology to confront pressing global challenges.

This project builds on a planning grant in which Stevens identified one safety net hospital and worked with it to develop and plan an innovative solution to reduce the cost of services and improve the quality of care for Medicaid beneficiaries. This project implements the solution. In it, Stevens is working with Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, to develop an educational and organizational development program. This program is examining best national and regional practices, identifying strengths and weaknesses in the Monmouth organization, and calibrating critical criteria for success to improve the quality of care and enhance customer and patient satisfaction scores for Monmouth’s expanding population of Medicaid and other safety net patients.
