Programs for Parents serves as Essex County’s Child Care Resource and Referral Agency. It provides child care resource and referral information to the general public; provides child care referral and placement services and financial assistance to eligible families; and administers the NJ Warmline, which gives health information and training services to child care providers and parents throughout the state.

This project supports the development of the Greater Newark Shared Services Alliance, a network of 10 child care center providers that have an interest in shared services, cost savings, and program support. The Alliance aims to create a pool of, and conduct training for, early childhood education professionals who can substitute for licensed teachers in any of the member centers.  The project also supports the Alliance in identifying and prioritizing other opportunities in which the member child care centers can share services, such as back office support, bulk purchases of goods and services, family support services, and information and technology operations.
