Behavioral Health Consultant Training

The Center for Health Education, Medicine, and Dentistry (CHEMED), a division of the Lakewood Resource & Referral Center, is a Federally Qualified Health Center in Lakewood, New Jersey.

This project supports the training of a CHEMED behaviorist in the Cherokee Health Systems’ model for integrating behavioral healthcare in primary care settings. The training provides instruction on methods of brief intervention, motivational interviewing, and effective communication styles. The project also includes a follow-up virtual meeting, in which Cherokee staff review cases with the CHEMED behaviorist and provide further guidance on Cherokee's integrated model.
