Rutgers Project ECHO to Host First COVID-19 Information Session with New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and the New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety - Division of Consumer Affairs (NJDCA)

On Wednesday, April 1, from 12-1:15 PM EST, Rutgers Project ECHO will host its first COVID-19 Video Conference Session with top infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists informing the state’s COVID-19 response from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (NJDCA).

The one hour and fifteen minute session will include four topics and experts as well as time for Q&A:

  • An Update on COVID-19 in New Jersey: The Epidemiologic Perspective: Lisa McHugh, PhD, MPH, Program Coordinator-Infectious Disease Epidemiology, NJDOH, Division of Epidemiology Environmental and Occupational Health – Infectious and Zoonotic Disease Program
  • Understanding the Basics of Infection Prevention and Control in Outpatient Settings: Barbara Montana, MD, MPH, Medical Director, NJDOH – Division of Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health – Vaccine Preventable Disease Program

  • To Test or Not to Test: Decision Making for the Outpatient Health Care Provider: Edward Lifshitz, MD, Medical Director, NJDOH – Division of Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health – Infectious and Zoonotic Disease Program

  • Telehealth Opportunities Under New Regulatory Guidance: Paul Rodriguez, JD, Acting Director, NJOAG – New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety - Division of Consumer Affairs

New Jersey health care providers are encouraged to join this session for trusted, up-to-date information to inform emerging practices for safety and protection and to help respond to patients’ questions and needs.

This is the first session of a series to be offered by Rutgers Project ECHO. Sessions will be developed based on rapidly changing needs and feature experts covering developments on the virus, intervention, and regulatory changes in New Jersey’s health landscape.
