Cherokee Health Systems is a not-for-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Community Mental Health Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Cherokee is a recognized national leader in integrating behavioral health services and primary care through its model, which embeds behavioral health specialists within primary care teams.

This project supports Cherokee in providing hands-on, intensive clinical training and supervision to behaviorists at two New Jersey FQHCs (the Center for Health Education, Medicine, and Dentistry (CHEMED) in Lakewood and the Henry J. Austin Health Center in Trenton). The project improves behaviorists’ techniques in delivering brief interventions to patients using Cherokee’s integrated care model.
