Nicholson-Supported App Offers Help for Families During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Early Learning Lab has released Stay Play Grow, a free app designed to support parents and caregivers during the coronavirus outbreak and beyond. Funders for the app include The Nicholson Foundation and the Packard Foundation.

The pandemic has brought unprecedented changes to the early childhood landscape, with school and day care closures placing new challenges and requirements on parents. With the Stay Play Grow app, parents and caregivers can find a one-stop source of quality, trusted resources curated to help families with children 0-5. The app includes tips, tools, and information in English and Spanish, curated by a team of child development experts and parents.

The app features:

-Support for children’s learning and development, including simple activities to help children learn through play at home

-Self-care strategies for parents and caregivers

-Information on how to get help meeting basic needs including food, shelter, diapers, and more

-Trusted health & safety resources, including how to talk to children about the ongoing health pandemic and racial inequality
