Parking Information and Directions to The Nicholson Foundation Office

A number of public parking lots and garages are within walking distance of 60 Park Place. The Military Park garage, an underground facility across from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), is one of the largest and most accessible in the area (entrance accessible from Broad Street, Center Street, and Park Place). Upon leaving the garage on Park Place, walk directly across the street to enter 60 Park Place.

Parking also is available at posted rates at a number of nearby indoor and outdoor parking facilities, including NJPAC lots and One Newark Center/The Seton Hall Law School Building (Mulberry Street). 

Via New Jersey Turnpike: Exit 15W or Exit 13A (North or South)

Exit 15W: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 15W. Follow I-280 West to Exit 15. Take Route 21 South (McCarter Highway) 1/4 mile to Raymond Boulevard and turn right. Proceed to second light and make a hard right onto Park Place. Proceed approximately 150 yards and make left into underground Military Park Garage. Note: If you miss the hard right and instead turn right onto Broad Street, you can still enter the Military Park Garage by proceeding 150 yards and making a right into the garage.

Exit 13A: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 13A, Newark Airport/Elizabeth Seaport. After paying the toll, stay to the left and follow signs for Routes 1 & 9, Newark/Elizabeth. Follow Routes 1 & 9 North past Newark Liberty International Airport and stay to the left. Follow signs for Route 21 and Route 22 and exit at Route 21 North/Downtown Newark. Follow signs to Broad Street (right lane exit shortly after getting on Route 21 viaduct). Follow Broad Street past Prudential headquarters. After passing the Prudential building, cross Raymond Boulevard, and make a right into the underground Military Park Garage.

Via Garden State Parkway (from Northern NJ)

Follow Parkway South to Exit 145. Follow signs to Route 280 East (Harrison/Newark). Route 280 East will divide as you enter the Newark city limits; stay in the far right lane to remain on Route 280. Take Exit 15 (Route 21/Downtown Newark). Make a right and proceed for one-half mile on Route 21. Turn right onto Center Street then turn left at the second light and follow signs directly into the underground Military Park garage.

Via Garden State Parkway and Route 78 (from Southern and Western NJ)

Follow Parkway North to Exit 142 (Route 78). Follow Route 78 East to Exit 57 (Newark, Downtown/Arts). Stay to the right and follow signs to Route 21 North (McCarter Highway). Once on Route 21 North (McCarter Highway), stay in the right lane and exit onto Broad Street. Proceed up Broad Street toward the Prudential Building. After passing Prudential and crossing Raymond Boulevard, make a right into the underground Military Park Garage.

From Penn Station/Newark

Penn Station Newark is three blocks from The Nicholson Foundation office and a stop on the PATH, AMTRAK, and New Jersey Transit trains. After disembarking, walk through the terminal and up the escalator with the “To Gateway Center” awning. Continue walking through to the Gateway Center complex. Proceed through the revolving doors and make a left turn at the Market Street Bar & Grill, then a right at the Bank of America ATMs. Continue up the stairs, and walk the full length of the Gateway Complex and exit the building onto Mulberry Street. Turn right onto Mulberry Street and walk toward Raymond Boulevard. Continue past Raymond Boulevard until you reach East Park Street. Turn left toward Park Place. Make a right on Park Place. Enter building at 60 Park Place.

From Broad Street Station

Broad Street Station is less than two miles from The Nicholson Foundation office and is easily accessible by a short bus ride. Walk half a block to the Lackawanna bus stop and look for the number 11 or 13 buses (request the Broad & Market Street stop), or the 27, 28, 59, 66 buses (request the Lerner’s NY & Co. stop). The fare is $1.50 each way.
