Professional Impact NJ (PINJ) is the early childhood professional development infrastructure for New Jersey, funded through the Division of Family Development in the Department of Human Services. For the past 18 years, PINJ has coordinated services that help build the infrastructure for professional development for the early childhood workforce.

This project implements a model of coaching and support to advance the education and competencies of early childhood administrators, directors, and teachers working in early childhood settings. The model enables them to attain the New Jersey Administrators Credential, a State-level professional qualification. This Intentional Leadership grant project expands leadership outreach efforts among the approximately 3,300 programs that do not participate in Grow NJ Kids, New Jersey’s early childhood program quality rating and improvement system. These leadership outreach efforts are designed to develop a strong cohort of professionals who use evidence-based practices to operate early childhood centers across the State.
