The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (EMSOP) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, offers a Doctor of Pharmacy program and provides multidisciplinary research, graduate education, and post-doctoral training programs in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, pharmaco-economics, and related health and basic science fields.

This project supports a randomized controlled study evaluating the impact of adding a pharmacist to the primary care team caring for patients with diabetes in the Henry J. Austin Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Trenton. In the initial phase of the project, EMSOP enrolled patients in the study and began the 1-year intervention with some patients. In the second phase, EMSOP is increasing the number of patients in the study, and completing the intervention for all enrolled patients.
