“Show+Tell” Event Will Connect Nicholson Foundation Grantees with Potential Funders

Registration is now open for Show+Tell New Jersey, which takes place Tuesday, April 20, from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm EDT. During this virtual event, prospective donors and others will have a chance to learn about 12 outstanding programs working to improve the health and well-being of children and families across New Jersey.

The “Show+Tell” series is the marquee program of Promise Venture Studio, an organization based in Palo Alto, CA, that helps connect social entrepreneurs in early childhood development with funders seeking improved outcomes for children and families. Nonprofits are often considered incubators for new and promising ideas that can help solve major social problems. But ideas can only lead to good outcomes when they receive proper funding and nurturing.

The 90-minute session will give leaders from the featured organizations previously funded by The Nicholson Foundation the opportunity to “show and tell” how they are helping solve diverse challenges in New Jersey. Among those pitching their ideas will be groups:

  • Addressing the social determinants of health within communities
  • Innovating in the delivery of healthcare and early childhood care for children and families facing the greatest adversity
  • Advocating for justice for new moms and babies
  • Working to prevent and mitigate the long-term impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in the lives of young people

Nicholson’s support for Promise Venture is another way the Foundation, which will close on December 31, is trying to attract others to continue and build on work it has been doing over the years to change systems in New Jersey to better serve individuals and families caught in challenging lives.
